Esports Team to Compete Nationally

As the High School Esports League Regular season ends with a powerful showing from all ten Florence 1  Esports teams, one team, the Rocket League group, will compete for the National Championship as one of two undefeated teams out of 346 others across the country.

Tournament games start on February 20th, with the Final Tournament taking place at 8:30 p.m. on February 23rd which will be a live broadcast on Twitch.

Esports also known as electronic sports, e-sports, or eSports, is a form of sport competition using video game consoles. Nearly 200 US colleges are offering around $15 million per year in scholarships for the esports elite, and university teams can earn millions more in tournament prizes.

Wyatt Howle of the Florence 1 Schools Technology Department is the team coach.
