Send a Smile to Someone!

Send A Smile

Chartwells is participating in a wonderful campaign to spread a little joy to older adults who may be lonely during this time. Please see all of the details below. A packet with wonderful designs that students can color is also below as a download.

Send a Smile Campaign

We’re all doing our part to stop the spread of Coronavirus – like washing our hands (a lot!), going to school online, and even missing fun things like sports practices and birthday parties.

Older adults (like grandmas and grandpas) need to be especially careful; and that means no visitors, which can be pretty lonely. But you can help! Did you know you can send smiles… in the mail?!? We hope you’ll join us at Chartwells K12 as we spread smiles to our friends at Morrison Living communities across the country.

It’s easy! Here’s how it works…

First, wash your hands, of course!

Write a letter and/or draw a picture to an older adult. You can make your own or use the guide included as a download below.

Place your letter and drawings in an envelope and then draw a smiley face on the outside of the envelope (If you don’t have an envelope, that’s okay. We’ll still make sure your Smile gets where it needs to go.) Feel free to send as many as you like, there’s no limit on smiles these days!

Return your letter to one of the Culinary Services food pick-up sites and we’ll take care of the rest by getting your Smile to an older adult whose day will be brighter because of YOU!
