Nichole Scipio is a graduate of Florence One Schools and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Scipio received her teaching certificate through a collaboration between Coastal Carolina University and the SC Department of Education.
With ten years of teaching experience, currently, Mrs. Scipio is a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Biomedical Science Teacher. She acts as a facilitator to develop STEM skills and knowledge in the subjects of Human Body Systems, Medical Intervention, and Biomedical Innovations for students interested in healthcare. With ten years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales, she offers her students insight beyond the classroom setting. Armed with the knowledge of real-world healthcare issues, a passion for teaching, and knowledge of the importance of STEM skills; she strives to prepare her students of today to be competent healthcare providers of tomorrow.
In addition to the students she teaches, Mrs. Scipio strives to have a positive impact on all students at West Florence High School. Though the STEM Committee, she encourages the development of STEM skills in all disciplines for all students. As Sponsor of the Biomedical Club, she encourages members to explore the medical field outside of the classrooms, participate in health/educational based community service projects; such as Relay for Life, American Red Cross Blood Drive, and Knight of Innovation. Her sponsorship of Miss West Florence encourages camaraderie among peers, celebrates unique character, and school spirit.
