Attendance Recovery: Begins Tuesday, March 26th and will last until Thursday, May 23rd; read the rules before signing up. There will be an announcements later in the semester about appeals. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Cooper in Attendance.
Senior Upcoming Events:
March 26 (Tuesday) Jostens will deliver Senior Supplies from 2:00-4:00
April 9 (Tuesday) School Bell Studios will take Cap and Gown Pictures from 1:00-4:00; cap & gowns will be supplied
April 30 (Tuesday) Jostens will do a final delivery of Senior Supplies from 11:30-2:00; if items are not picked up, then a shipping charge will be applied to order.
April 30 (Tuesday) School Bell Studios will do make up Cap and Gown pictures from 1:00-4:00; cap & gown will be supplied
May 20 (Monday) Academic Awards Night in WF Auditorium at 6:30
1st Block - Friday, May 24
2nd Block - Wednesday, May 29
3rd Block - Thursday May 30
4th Block - Friday May 31
June 2 (Sunday) Baccalaureate Service in the WF auditorium at 2:00 p.m.; attendance is voluntary
June 5 (Wednesday) Graduation Practice at Florence Center 9:00a. m - 11:00 a.m.; attendance is mandatory.
June 6 (Thursday) Graduation at Florence Center at 7:30 p.m. All guests will need a ticket to attend. The number of tickets per student will be determined closer to time. Minimum will be 10 tickets.
Prom tickets will go on sale from March 25-April 5 during all 4 lunches. Tickets are $35 per person ($70 per couple). STUDENTS MUST HAVE A VALID, CURRENT SCHOOL ID TO PURCHASE PROM TICKETS! NO EXCEPTIONS!!
Please keep the following in mind about prom this year:

Time: 8:00 P.M.-12:00 A.M.
OUTSIDE GUESTS: If you are bringing a date to prom that DOES NOT attend West Florence, you must pick up a Guest Form in the main office and return no later than March 25, 2019 before you can purchase tickets.
NOTES ABOUT PROM:
Ladies, please make sure your dress is appropriate for prom. If you think there is any question, come show a picture to Dr. Green, Ms. Young, Ms. Byrd, or Mrs. Gina Lee ahead of time to make sure. LADIES: WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO TURN YOU AWAY AT PROM IF YOUR DRESS IS INAPPROPRIATE (too short, too much cleavage, bare stomachs)
Bring your prom tickets and ID if you are the student who purchased the tickets.
ALL GUESTS should bring their Driver’s License. If they do not yet have a license, they should bring their STUDENT ID from their school.
Remember, once you enter the SiMT Building for prom, you will NOT be allowed back out until you are leaving for the night. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU BRING IN EVERYTHING YOU NEED THE FIRST TIME.
Relay for Life: It's Relay Time!!! Students, Faculty and Staff, Relay for Life has a contest going that I am sure we can win! If you know of a business that would like to sponsor a track sign for $100, please take them a form to fill out. Put your name and school so you get credit as a registered participant. Best of all you get a Relay T-shirt for raising $100. Please see Ms. K. Davis, Mrs. Scipio, Mrs. Hobgood, or Mrs. T. Wilson for a form.
Until 03/21/2019: FMU Continuum Dual Enrollment Program - Students who are interested in learning more about The Continuum dual enrollment program through Francis Marion University are encouraged to attend an information meeting on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. in the West Florence Media Center. All interested students and their parents are encouraged to attend.
Until 03/21/2019: British Isles and Paris Travel Opportunity - Are you interested in traveling to the British Isles and Paris? Join Coach Wegmann and Pam Bouchard for a short meeting after school in Thursday, March 21st at 3:35 P.M. in room 250-C. The trip will is scheduled for July 2020. If you have questions, you can see Mrs. Bouchard, room 252-C or Coach Wegmann,room 250-C for more information.
Until 03/22/2019: College Fair Field Trip - All sophomore and juniors are invited to attend the College Fair on Monday April 1st at the Florence Center. Permission forms went out Monday March 18th in advisory. They are to be returned by Friday March 22nd. No late permission forms will be accepted, this is a VERY FIRM deadline. If you did not get a permission form, please stop by the school counseling office to pick one up.
Until 03/22/2019:The SC Coaches Association of Women’s Sports and Trophies by “M” Medical Scholarship - Available to any female athlete who plans to major in education or the medical field. See Mrs. Yarborough in Guidance for an application.
Until 03/22/2019: Palmetto Boys State - Current junior boys that are interested in applying for Palmetto Boys State need to see their school counselor for information. All information will need to be completed and returned to the school counseling office by March 22nd. This is a FIRM deadline. NO late forms will be accepted.

Until 03/22/2019: Knight Newspaper/Journalism Class - Students! Do you have an interest in writing, interviewing, photography, and computer layout! As you are considering and pre-registering your classes for next school year, think about signing up for WF’s newspaper/journalism class. This is an application class so please see your school counselor or Mrs. Cimney in 221-B for an application. The deadline is March 22nd.
Until 03/27/2019: ASVAB Test - The ASVAB test will be given on Wednesday, March 27th. Please sign-up in front of Guidance and turn in a permission sheet to Mrs. Jackson on V-hall.
Until 03/28/2019: Round Table Readers Meeting - The first, official Round Table Reader meeting to discuss the book The Rains by Gregg Hurwitz is scheduled for this Friday, March 29th during all four lunches. Stop by the library to pick up your copy of the book to be ready for the meeting. See you soon!
Until 03/28/2019: Palmetto Girls State - Current junior girls that are interested in applying for Palmetto Girls State need to see their school counselor for information. Until 04/01/2019: The Michelle Yolanda Glenn Carey Scholarship - Provides a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior who finished his or her elementary education at Theodore Lester Elementary School and has a desire to teach elementary education. Applications can be picked up from the scholarship bulletin board and the deadline is April 1, 2019.
Until 04/01/2019: FBi Construction Scholarship - Provides up to four scholarships of $1,000 to a student entering a course of study in the construction industries field with the goal of finding employment in a career allied with the construction industry. This career could range from construction management or civil engineering to architecture to accounting. Applicants may be graduating high school seniors or returning post-secondary students at a technical school, college or university, or someone continuing education after time spent in the workforce. Information is posted on the scholarship bulletin board.
Until 04/04/2019: The Achievement Scholarship - Designed for a student who has demonstrated academic excellence with a GPA of 4.01 and above exhibiting his or her commitment to educational distinction.
Until 04/04/2019: The Endeavor Scholarship - Designed for a hardworking student of good character and future educational aspirations. This student must have a GPA not exceeding a 4.0. Applications can be picked up from the scholarship board. Applications are due to Mrs. Raniszewski by April 4, 2019. No exceptions for late applications.
Until 04/12/2019: Prom Picture Contest - Send us your favorite prom photos for a chance to win $250! Got a winner there? We’re looking for great moments from this year’s prom season. We’ll be awarding cash prizes for fabulous pre-prom, dance, dinner, after-prom, you name it. Outstanding promposal? Show us and $250 could be yours!

Until 04/12/2019: Palmetto State Law Enforcement Officers Association announces the James L. Streater Scholarship - The application is now open. This scholarship is open for seniors who are entering the criminal justice field of study. Applications can be picked up from the scholarship bulletin board. All applications must be received by April 12, 2019.
Until 04/12/2019:The George Rogers Foundation Scholarship - was founded in an effort to provide scholarships for first in family students in need of financial assistance to pursue a college education. George Rogers developed the foundation as a means of giving back to both a school and a community that provided for him during his years at the University of South Carolina. The First in Family Scholarship information is posted on the scholarship bulletin board.
Until 04/15/2019: The Tywanza Sanders® Legacy Scholarship - was established in 2017 to honor the legacy and commitment to education of Tywanza Sanders®. Tywanza was a victim of the Emanuel Church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina. The mission of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to individuals enrolling in undergraduate study at a four-year college or university in the United States in the Fall of 2019. Information can be found online on the WF Counseling website and on the scholarship bulletin board.

Until 04/30/2019: The Mary McAllister Annual Memorial Scholarship - Created to reward young professionals that show the same passion for caring as Mary and to help those students move forward in their dreams. A one-time $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to the senior high school student who best represents Mary and her legacy that she leaves behind. Applications are located on the scholarship board in the cafeteria.
