USC President to Visit South Florence High School

University of South Carolina President Dr. Robert L. Caslen The University of South Carolina President Dr. Robert L. Caslen will visit South Florence High School as a part of a special partnership program.

Florence 1 Schools is a partner with the University of South Carolina in a Carnegie Corporation Project known as iLEAD.

The iLead (Improvement Leadership Educat ion and Development) initiative seeks to support the efforts of twelve university-district partnerships throughout the United States committed to the use of improvement science---a problem-solving approach centered on continuous inquiry and learning.

Florence 1 Schools has been engaged in this work for over two years and is actively involved at the national level with the other 11 district/higher education partnerships.

According to Dr. Jon Pederson Dean of the USC College of Education, USC President Dr. Robert L. Caslen is very interested in the university's relationship with PK-12 schools throughout the state and will visit South Florence High School on Monday, November 18, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
