F1S Elementary Attendance

A is for Attendance Type.

There are three types of attendance in Florence 1 Schools this year.

Virtual Attendance is for Virtual Academy students.  This type of attendance occurs when Virtual Academy students participate online in activities during the instructional day.
Onsite Attendance is for A and B cohort students.  This type of attendance occurs when students physically come to the school building.
eLearning Attendance is also for A and B cohort students.  This type of attendance occurs when A and B cohort students attempt assigned activities independently at home by the next in-person instructional day.
Note: Students must be present at least half of the school day or they will be counted absent as per Florence 1 Schools Elementary Attendance Policy.

B is for Being Present.

For students to be counted present, the following guidelines apply:

Virtual Academy students are expected to log onto their Chromebooks at 7:45 AM and participate in online activities throughout the instructional day.
Cohort A and B students who are scheduled to attend school are expected to be physically present in their classroom.
Cohort A and B students who are scheduled for eLearning at home are expected to attempt all eLearning assignments by the next in-person instructional day.

C is for Completing Assignments.

Completing assignments is vital for student success.

Two Examples:

If a Cohort A student attends school in person on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday but does not attempt the eLearning assignments made by the teacher on Tuesday and Thursday then that student will be counted ABSENT for Tuesday and Thursday.
If a Virtual Academy student does not log on to his or her Chromebook by 7:45 AM and remain active online to complete assignments, that student will be counted absent for the instructional day.

D is for Do Your Homework.

Cohort A and B students may be assigned homework in addition to their eLearning activities.  Homework assignments are expected to be completed and returned to teachers in person at the beginning of the next instructional day.

E is for Excellence.

We are committed to providing every student in our district with a high quality educational experience. We want each one of our virtual and face to face students to experience success, and attendance is vital to achieving this goal. Together we can make this an excellent school year!
