Free tutoring now available for all Florence 1 Schools students

All Florence 1 Schools students now have 24/7 access to tutoring thanks to a partnership between the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) and the South Carolina State Library (SCSL). The partnership will be in place for the next three years and is available through American Rescue Plan's Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ARP ESSER) funds.

Students can access the tutoring sessions through SC Discus. Visit scdiscus.org, hover over the By Subject dropdown menu and select Tutoring & Test Prep. Once on the tutoring page, students will select Tutor.com.

Students can create an account on Tutor.com to store assignments and submit papers to be reviewed but this step is optional.

When students are ready to begin a session with a tutor they will fill out the prompt box, identifying the topic, subject, grade and question before clicking Connect Now.

A message telling students that they are being connected to a tutor should appear and they are ready to chat with the tutor.

All Florence 1 students, K-12, can access this free real-time tutoring in English or Spanish. Along with tutoring, students can also get help preparing for tests and essay assignments.

PAPER online tutoring is also still available for Florence 1 Schools middle school students.
