I am very honored and vey humbled to be chosen as Delmae’s staff person of the year for the 2017-2018 school year. There were so many deserving candidates as our employees are the most hard working, caring, and family orientated staff around. Everyone here strives to work together and support each other in all aspects of our job expectations.
My Delmae experience began when my children entered kindergarten. I volunteered every chance I could get as the environment was happy and inviting. I then began substituting and worked every day I could exclusively for Delmae until I was approached by Mrs. Jolley about a full time position. In which I enthusiastically accepted. I have now been employed for 13 years as a paraprofessional. I have worked in the areas of kindergarten, first grade, third grade, math lab, library, and any other areas I have been needed. I have called names in the carline for 13 years and have also been involved in the afterschool and summer program for the last 5 years. This year I will be the site assistant in the Aftercare Academy held on campus. All areas have been a learning and rewarding experience for me.
Outside of work my home life consists of my boyfriend/fiancée of 6 years Chris Melton, my children Brandon Collins 21, and Blake Collins 20, and my fur babies 2 dogs and 3 cats.
I enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, hunting, riding 4 wheelers, going out to the movies, going to the beach, and spending time with my friends. I try to help everyone I can and I try to have a smile for everyone I meet.
