Statement from Superintendent Dr. Richard O'Malley

Florence 1 Schools Community, 

I was notified by my staff of an inappropriate social media post on one of our school’s Facebook accounts. What was posted, and the conduct of the staff involved, is inexcusable and not a representation of the school, its students and staff, or of our district as a whole. 

Today this matter has been thoroughly investigated and those who contributed to this event have been held accountable for their decision-making and actions. There is no room for anything of this nature in our schools and I will not tolerate it in our school district.

We have made great strides in Florence 1 over the last several years and I believe that the best is yet to come. Thank you for your continued support of the students and staff of Florence 1 Schools.
