Yesterday, more than 40 members of the F1S Transportation Department came together for a special Blue Zones Purpose Workshop—a time of reflection, connection, and growth. These workshops, offered throughout the district, are designed to help participants discover their unique gifts, passions, and values—both in their work and in everyday life.

Led by Dr. Lee, Blue Zones Coordinator, and Calandra Brisbone-Davis, Executive Director of Professional Development, the session invited employees into meaningful conversations and hands-on activities. Working in small groups, they explored what truly drives them and how to live with greater intention. Each person crafted a personal Purpose Statement and identified simple, powerful ways to bring more meaning and connection into their lives. 

Living with joy and purpose is a hallmark of Blue Zones communities around the world—and this workshop brought that spirit to life right here in our district.

Together, participants paused to reflect on heartfelt questions like:

💙What’s the difference between what you do and why you do it?
💙How can you lean more fully into your purpose?
💙In what ways can you grow and thrive in that purpose?

To wrap up the inspiring session, participants were treated to a surprise Smoothie Pop-up. With bright smiles and renewed energy, everyone enjoyed a fresh, plant-based Pineapple and Spinach smoothie from Smoothie King (SKFI) —a delicious reminder that taking care of ourselves can be both nourishing and joyful.

Moments like these remind us that when we come together with open hearts and a shared purpose, we grow stronger, not just as individuals, but as a community.
