Greetings,

       I'm Avery Cooper. I was born here in Florence, grew up in Hemingway, SC, and graduated from Lake City High School. I attended Newberry College where I recieved a degree in Music Performance. Following my undergraduate studies, I enlisted into the United States Marine Corps where I served for four years at MCLB in Albany, GA before being honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. After service, I continued my education at Valdosta State University where I was initially certified in music education. 

       I began my teaching career as Director of Bands at Metter HS in Metter, GA, continued as such at Clinch County HS, Fitzgerald HS, and Alcovy HS. I returned to South Carolina in 2014 where I have since been Director of Bands here at Southside.
