Mrs. Barbara Sims, M.Ed., NBCT

Greetings and Welcome! I am Barbara Sims. This is my 17th year with Florence One Schools, and will be my first year at Moore Middle School. I began my teaching at Wilson High and for the past 15 years I taught at Sneed Middle as a Computer and Technology teacher. While at Sneed Middle, I had the privilege to teach a variety of courses - Study Skills, Intro to Careers, Keyboarding, Introduction to Computers, Digital Literacy, Multimedica Basics, and Fundamentals of Computing. This year at Moore Middle, I will be teaching Intro to Computers to 6th graders, and Fundamental of Computing to 7th graders which will carry 1/2 Carnegie unit for high school credit.

I am also an Adjunct Professor at Coker University in Hartsville. I teach computer business courses to students seeking a four-year Business Administration and Managment Degree.

I enjoy family, traveling, relaxing, learning new things, and most of all, teaching! I am married to William of 30 years and have two sons, Devon and Da'Sean. My personal goal is to always finish whatever I start.

I am excited to be here at Moore Middle School! My desire is to introduce students to the field of computer science through an exploration of understanding computer literacy, operations, and programming. Students will be exposed to a broad range of computer technology from basic hardware/software to applications and the internet.

Teaching is my Passion! A passion that I share with my students to make learning interesting, imaginative, and exciting.

Again, welcome to a new start!
