Mrs. Barbara Sims, M.Ed., NBCT

Greetings! I am Barbara Sims, and this is my 19th year with Florence One Schools. I began my teaching at Wilson High and for 16 years I taught at Sneed Middle as a Computer and Technology teacher. While at Sneed Middle, I had the privilege to teach a variety of courses - Study Skills, Intro to Careers, Keyboarding, Introduction to Computers, Digital Literacy, Multimedia Basics, and Fundamentals of Computing. This year at Moore Middle, I am teaching Intro to Computers to 6th graders, and Fundamental of Computing Part 1 and 2 to 7th and 8th graders.  I am excited to be here at Moore Middle School! My desire is to introduce students to the field of computer science through an exploration of understanding computer literacy, operations, and programming. Students will be exposed to a broad range of computer technology from basic hardware/software to applications and the internet.

I am also an Adjunct Professor at Coker University in Hartsville, where I teach computer business courses to students seeking a four-year Business Administration and Management Degree.

My enjoyment involves family, traveling, relaxing, learning new things, and most of all, teaching! I am married to William of 30 years and have two sons, Devon and Da'Sean. My personal goal is to always finish whatever I start.

Teaching is my Passion! A passion that I share with my students to make learning interesting, imaginative, and exciting.

Again, welcome to a new start!
