I have been teaching at West Florence High since August, 2003 as a business education teacher. During this time, I had the opportunity to teach Marketing, Advertising, Entrepreneurship, Marketing Management, Financial Math, Desktop Publishing, Multimedia, Business Law, Business Finance, Accounting, and Web Page Design. Prior to moving to Florence, I taught Computer Technology at Myrtle Beach High for 3 years. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a retail store manager and as a customer service representative for a bank. Bringing my experiences from these jobs into the classroom has been beneficial.

In my teaching career, I have been honored by my colleagues. From 2014-2015, I was nominated as West Florence Teacher of the Year and have been recognized as a Star Teacher in 2007-2008, 2010-2011, and 2013-2014 school years.  My extracurricular duties include being a Senior Class Sponsor, a member of the Business Department Advisory Committee,  and a team member of the Read to Succeed initiative here at West Florence. My hobbies include sailing, reading, sewing, and budgeting. Also, I enjoy trying to cook and bake new recipes. As a host parent to several foreign exchange students, I have enjoyed trying different cuisines from many countries. 

It has been my passion to teach for a very long time. Growing up in a family of educators, it just seemed natural to take on this career. The love for teaching stems from each of my students. They are truly my extended family.
