Coach Micah Young is a native of Florence South Carolina, a graduate of South Florence in 1991. Upon graduation Coach Young attended the Citadel in Charleston South Carolina where he lettered In Football all 4 Years, achieving All-conference and All-American Honors.  Upon Graduation in 1995 Coach Young entered Graduate school at the Citadel and began his coaching career as Assistant head Strength Coach and Graduate Assistant Linebacker Coach. In 1997 Coach Young returned to Florence and Founded Dylan Mortgage company LLc.  In 1999 Dylan Mortgage was sold and Micah was offered a biology Teaching position, a Varsity fooball coaching position and head JV baseball Coaching Duties at Wilson High School. 20 years later Coach Young continues to teach and coach at Wilson, now as assistant head football/Defensive coordinator and Head Coach of Wilson Baseball.  Coach Young married Christy Sawyer, also a Florence Native, in June of 2000 and Welcomed their son Thomas Young in may of 2006. Coach Young was inducted into the Florence Athletic Hall of Fame in December 2019
