Welcome to my classroom!
I started teaching at West Florence High School in March 1990. I have taught a variety of courses, including Physical Science H and CP, Integrated Science, Applied Biology 1 and 2, Medical Terminology DC, Anatomy & Physiology CP and H, AP Prep Biology, and AP Biology. I REALLY enjoy teaching Anatomy and Physiology because it is so relatable. Everything is about ourselves and our bodies. AP Biology is a challenging course that I LOVE because it prepares students for Science beyond West Florence.
Over my years at West Florence, I have sponsored United Students, Try-Hi-Y, Character Club, coached JV softball, and am presently the Senior Class co-sponsor. This is my 31st year of teaching, with all but 2 of those years right here at West Florence. (I spent 2 years teaching at Southern Pines Middle School in North Carolina in the mid-'90s.) My husband also teaches here, 2 of our 3 children have graduated from West and 1 is still a student here. West Florence is a BIG part of my life! I love what I do--what I teach, who I teach and who I teach with!
I can be reached through the school office, through my school email or students may arrange help sessions around my duty schedule. Please do not hesitate to ask. It's what I am here for!
