Mr. Mark Jackson
Mr. Jackson is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He began performing on the cello as a third grade student and graduated from Northside (now North Atlanta) High School of the Performing Arts in Georgia. He received his undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of Georgia and completed his Masters of Educational Technology degree from Lesley University.
He has taught orchestra at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in several systems in the metro Atlanta area before moving to Florence, SC area in 2005. He has taught in the Florence One School District for the past sixteen years.
Mr. Jackson also participates in several other music activities in the area. He regularly performs as a cellist and also serves as the Personnel Manager for the Florence Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he is also one of the founding members of the Cadenza String Quartet. He is also serves as the Hand Bell Choir director at his church in Florence.
He lives in Florence with his wife, Barrett, and their two daughters.
I am excited about working with new and returning students of Moore Middle School in learning the basics of piano, guitar, or string orchestra instruments (violin, viola, cello, or bass).
