Mr. Mark Jackson

Mr. Jackson is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He began performing on the cello as a third grade student and graduated from Northside (now North Atlanta) High School of the Performing Arts in Georgia. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and completed his Masters of Education degree from Lesley University.

He has taught orchestra at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in several systems in the metro Atlanta area before moving to Florence, SC area in 2005. He has taught in the Florence One School District for the past fifteen years.

Mr. Jackson also participates in several other music activities in the area. He regularly performs as a cellist in the Florence Symphony Orchestra.  He is also one of the founding members of the Cadenza String Quartet. He is also the Personnel Manager for the Florence Symphony Orchestra.

He lives in Florence with his wife, Barrett, and their two daughters.

I am excited about working with the students of Moore Middle School as they learn how to how to perform on the piano, guitar, or string orchestra instruments (violin, viola, cello, or bass).
