Laura Anne Hofler

I am proud to be a Wilson High School Tiger. I love our school and our students and am excited about our journey together this year!

I grew up in Rock Hill, SC. I have degrees in English and Spanish from Furman University and a Masters Degree from The Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. I have taken an additional 30 graduate hours and am National Board Certified. I am a Winthrop Writing Project Teaching Consultant and have been trained in MYP Literature. Prior to moving to Florence, I lived in Charlotte, where I taught for five years in nearby Fort Mill. This will be my eighth year at Wilson. I have taught many levels and types of students. I believe that all students can learn, and try to encourage my students to become lifelong learners and readers. I believe that every child deserves a great teacher every day.

I love life with my husband and sons, who are four, three, and one. Outside of class you'll find me coaching the Mock Trial team (along with my husband who is our Attorney Coach, Jack Hofler).

I was an IB student myself and commend you for challenging yourself with the IB Program; you will be thankful for this challenge when you begin college and find yourself more prepared than most of your peers! As your English teacher, I look forward to leading you around the world and through time, exploring universal themes through literature, discussion, and writing.
