Mrs. Monique Henegan
I am a 9th grade teacher in the Freshman Academy at Wilson High School. I am excited to teach biology and prepare students for the additional science classes needed to obtain their SC High School Diploma and further their education. I graduated from of Winthrop University (BS Biology), USC Columbia School of Public Health (MPH) and UNC Pembroke (MAT). My teaching career spans from middle school to the university level and is professionally inclusive of public schools and hospitals.
The curriculum for biology comprises of a few areas of focus: science inquiry, chemistry, cells, energy, DNA, mitosis/meiosis, genetics, evolution and ecology. A good foundation in math is essential and access to the internet (either home or at school) will be needed. While our focus is on the SC Standards for Biology, skills learned in this course will prepare your student for all future sciences taught here.
When I am not at Wilson instructing, I am home with my husband and our two year old daughter. I look forward to her walking the halls of our beloved Wilson High School one day.
For assistance, I can always be reached by email and parents can schedule conferences by calling 843-758-6626. Please know it is my pleasure and honor to influence and lead your child through great learning experiences while in my care!
