Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Murriel Calcutt
I am from Pamplico, South Carolina and the mother of three wonderful sons. I also have two precious little granddaughters I am a graduate of Clemson Univesity and Francis Marion University. After my undergraduate studies, I received my masters in Creative Arts and Learning from Lesley University. Before coming to Wilson High School, I was previously employed as a Visual Arts teacher with Florence District Two (Hannah-Pamplico High School), for 20 years. I have served as a board member for the Florence Regional Arts Alliance and the Florence County Museum. I am presently serving on the Instructional Materials Advisory Committee for the State Department.
This is my sixth year with Florence District One. I feel very honored to have the opportunity to be a teacher at Wilson High School. I teach Visual Arts 1, 2, 3, Art 3-D Design, Photography, MYP Art, and IB Art. I truly feel that art fosters the imagination and enriches the creative development of our students. Ultimately, I believe that art strengthens a student's ability to excel in other areas of the curriculum.
