I am a graduate of Wilson High School and I am honored to be working here as an English teacher.  Wilson prepared me for a very diverse career and made me comfortable with being able to navigate in a world outside the confines of Florence.  After graduation from Wilson, I attended VIrginia State University and earned a BA degree in English.  After graduation from VSU, I worked as a reporter for WXEX TV, wrote ads for WRVA radio station in RIchmond, VA and later taught middle school English in Richmond. 

I have lived in a number of states where I have taught in diverse communities.  I earned a Masters in Educational Leadership from Wayne State in Detroit, Michigan.

Upon my return to Florence, I worked briefly as a middle school English teacher at Sneed Middle School, and then for several years as an assistant principal.  I served as a high school principal with District 4 and in 2004, returned to my high school alma mater.  By a circutious route, I returned to the very school that made me the teacher that I am today.
