My Bachelor of Science degree is from Francis Marion College. Political Science was my major with a minor in History.

My Masters of Education degree is in Secondary Social Studies and is from Francis Marion University.

I am a National Board Certified teacher in Adolescent and Young Adult History.

I am highly qualified as a Virtual teacher as I taught the Social Studies curriculum with the Florence One Virtual School.

I am certified to teach AP United States History.

I serve as the Voter and Selective Service Registrar for South Florence High.

I am one of the advisors of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

For the 2022-2023 school year, I teach APUSH, US History Honors, and US History College-Prep.

I am a proud graduate of South Florence High School. I completed my student teaching at SFHS in 1992 and have been a proud Bruin teacher ever since!

I was Teacher of the Year for South Florence for the 2018 - 2019 school year and during the 2007 - 2008 school year.

I was South Carolina Veterans of Foreign Wars Teacher of the Year in 2008.

Besides teaching, I am passionate about my family, exercise, reading, and my dogs!

If you are one of my students during the 2023-2024 school year you will need the following items for my class daily: Three ring binder (1 inch), Navy blue or black pens, white-out, highlighters, loose-leaf notebook paper (college or wide ruled), a set of ear buds, a charged chromebook, and coloring pencils for maps.
