I am a lifelong resident of Florence, South Carolina and a graduate of Florence School District 1 Public School System. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Generic Special Education from Coker College in Hartsville, S.C. I continued to further my education by earning a Master’s Degree in Learning Disabilities from Francis Marion University and a second Master’s Degree in Technology in Education from Lesley University. I earned my National Board Certification in Exceptional Education ages Birth to 21 in 2003.  I have been teaching at Dewey Carter since November 2016. Prior to DLC, I taught at Southside Middle School for 24 years and at South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs for 6 years.

I believe that ALL children can learn and it is my responsibility to help each student develop a secure sense of self-worth and belief in themselves as learners.
