Mrs. Walker
My name is Mrs. Walker (formerly Ms. Mumford) and this is my eleventh year teaching at Carver Elementary. I began my teaching career several years ago at Carver as an assistant in Mrs. Dorsey’s kindergarten classroom. I then went on to teach fourth grade at a private school. Upon my return to Carver, I had the wonderful opportunity to teach in the 4K Developmentally Delayed Preschool Program and in the kindergarten classroom. This is my seventh year as a second grade teacher. Second graders are the BEST!
I am a graduate of Coker College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Integrated Teaching Through the Arts from Lesley University. I welcome every opportunity to take what I have learned and use in my classroom.
I love to teach students in ways that allow them to be critical thinkers. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I remember being a little girl and playing “teacher” with my dolls. I love the feeling of introducing new concepts to students in new and exciting ways. I am so blessed to be doing what I love!
