Hi, my name is Christi Herod and I have been teaching since 2002.  I began my teaching career as a fifth grade teacher, and over the years I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.  I spent a few years teaching in a Talented and Gifted program, as well.  I spent the first 14 years of my career in Sumter County, and I came to Florence 1 as a third grade teacher.  After two years of third grade at Carver, I embarked on a new journey as an ESL Specialist.  I graduated from the University of South Carolina with an Elementary Education degree, and I graduated in May 2017 From Southern Wesleyan with a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  I completed my ESOL certerfication in 2019. 

I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such great kids each day!  I hope to prepare them for successful school careers, as well as help them grow into kind, compassionate young citizens.
