Hey, y'all! My name is Mrs. Gandy. This is my first year teaching at West Florence, but I'm no stranger to the area. I've lived in Florence for five years and grew up just down the road in Hartsville, where I attended Hartsville High School and the South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Mathematics. After graduating from Wofford College with a degree in English, I spent a bunch of years working in the world of issue advocacy, government, and politics. During the pandemic, I decided to embark on a new career in education. I recently completed my masters degree in social science from The Citadel before accepting this teaching position.

I teach social studies, and at the moment that includes economics and American government. Outside of the schoolyard walls, you may find me chasing one of our five dogs or 50+ chickens, ducks, guineas, and quail. Oh! And one pet turtle.
