Hello and welcome! 

My name is Mrs. Jamie Clark and I am excited to be your child’s REACH teacher this year. This will be my 1st year working at Briggs Elementary and my 17th year as an educator. I have previously taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in Florence One. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from The College of Saint Rose, in Albany, New York in 2005. I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with a specialization in Elementary Reading from NOVA Southeastern University, in the summer of 2008. In 2018, I was named PDIRA Distinguished Literacy Teacher of the Year. I hold my endorsement in Literacy, as well as, Gifted and Talented. In addition, I am a Google Level 1 and Level 2 Certified Educator. I am married with one son, who is a former REACH student, and attends Florence One Schools.

REACH courses are specifically designed to promote higher order thinking skills such as analyzing, evaluating and creating from the new Bloom’s Taxonomy. REACH classes emphasize independent research skills, self-expression, collaborative problem solving, public speaking, and hands-on inquiry at a pace and depth of study appropriate for G/T students. Our mission is to meet the unique needs of academically gifted and talented students by implementing an accelerated, in-depth and affective curriculum, providing counseling and guidance services, and offering opportunities for students to interact with gifted peers.
