    What is Title One?

Title I is the largest federally funded education program that provides resources to school districts that meet the eligibility requirements.

Title I funds help improve educational opportunities for students.

Lucy T. Davis received a total of $103,480 in Title One funds this school year.

    • One full time teacher to reduce classroom size
    • Instructional Supplies such as Scholastic News Weekly, writing paper, manipulatives, science supplies, STEM materials, etc.
    • Instructional Technology Supplies- Ink cartridges, paper, other materials
    • Parenting Materials-paper, ink, materials for parent nights

*These items were determined to be the needs of the school by the SIC and were the highest indicated concerns on our Fall/Spring parent/teacher surveys.

    Parents Right to Know

All teachers at Lucy T. Davis meet state certification requirements. Parents/Guardians in South Carolina have the right to learn about the following qualifications of their child's teacher: state certification requirements for the grade level and content areas taught, the current licensing status of your child's teacher, and baccalaureate/graduate certification/degree.

You may also request the qualifications of an instructional paraprofessional who serves your student in a Title I program or if your school operates a school wide Title I program. Parents/Guardians may request this information from the building principal.

Additionally, Florence One Schools ensures that parents will be notified in writing if their child will be taught by a teacher who does not meet certification requirements for 4 or more consecutive weeks.
