Major Jenina C. Woodward (Gardner)
Hi, I'm Major Woodward and am the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor for the Air Force Junior ROTC program here at Wilson High School.
I joined Wilson High School on 1 December 2020, after retiring from 28 years in the United States Air Force. I grew up in Chugiak, Alaska but spent the next 28 years living and serving in Georgia, South Carolina, Guam, New Jersey, Florida, Japan and Alabama. I also "vacationed" (ie. deployed to, for a temporary amount of time) in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Qatar, South Korea, Iraq, Oman, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and a few other "locations".
During my enlisted time in the Air Force, as an Air Transportation Specialist, I drove fork lifts, prepared cargo for airlift, loaded cargo on the military plans and then also worked as a personnelist, where I was responsible for handling retirements, promotions and other administrative duties. As an officer, I was again in the logistics career field and now managed Air Transportation Specialists, Supply and Transportation personnel and eventually was an instructor and director, over the same areas.
I received her Associates in Human Services and Bachelors Degree in Sociology from The University of Alaska, Anchorage. I continued her education while on active duty and received her Masters in Criminal Justice from New Charter University.
From an early age, I knew that I would end up in this type of position. I love working with teenagers and am excited to share, not only the history of the Air Force with the students of Wilson High, but to teach them valuable skill sets for their next chapter of life after high school.
If you ever have any questions about the JROTC program, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or MSgt Jones.
