Mr. John Martin Huggins

Mr. Huggins is a 2002 graduate of Johnsonville High School in Johnsonville, SC.  After high school, Mr. Huggins went on to attend Newberry College where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with minors in both Math and Music.  After teaching for a few years, Mr. Huggins decided to attend Ashford University to obtain his Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology.  Mr. Huggins then went on to teach for virtual schools for 4 years as well as Williamsburg Technical College.  He then began teaching at Academy of Hope Charter School in Conway, SC where he obtained his Middle School Certification in English Language Arts and Social Studies.  During this time, he also decided to pursue his Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Coastal Carolina University.  Mr. Huggins then went on to teach at Rosemary Middle School and Blackwater Middle School before coming to Timrod.  


Mr. Huggins believes that every student can learn and has the ability to do amazing things.  He believes that all students should work hard and have high expectations for themselves.  Each day, Mr. Huggins promises to hold high expectations for students and to push all his students to do their aboslute best work.


Mr. Huggins has two sisters, Jennifer and Brooke, who are both married.  He has a total of 5 nieces and nephews that he loves to spend as much time as possible with.  He loves spending time reading and cooking whenever possible.  His favorite TV show of all time is Charmed (the original not the reboot) as well as loving to watch HGTV and Food Network.  

































































Mr. Huggins is originally from Johnsonville, South Carolina, where he graduated from Johnsonville High School in 2002.  After high school, Mr. Huggins attended Newberry College where he obbtained a degree in Elementary Education with minors in both Music and Math.
