Hello Everyone!

My name is Stephen Byrd, and I am a social studies teacher at SFHS. I began teaching in the Fall of 2020 after graduating from Francis Marion University with a bachelor's and double certification in social studies and science. I am currently the Sociology and Current Events teacher, but I have also taught US History and the Constitution, Human Geography, and New Testament History. I originally started out as an industrial engineering major in college, but I would realize that my true calling would be to become a teacher. I switched to education, and it has been the greatest decision of my life. I am the head JV boys soccer coach and Co-leader of the Gamerz Club at South Florence High School. I am the assistant middle school girls basketball coach at Southside Middle School. I am looking forward to the great years to come being a SFHS Bruin!
