My name is Coach Rich Wideman and this is my third year teaching at West Florence High School. I spent 15 years of my teaching career at Darlington High School where I taught US History, Government, Economics, Financial Literacy, Current Events, and World History. I am originally from Trotwood, OH, which is a suburb of Dayton. I attended Cincinnati Christian University where I received a Bachelor of Music with a Minor in Youth Ministry. I received my Masters of Education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and am certified to teach social studies in grades 7-12. I have also attended Winthrop University where I was pursuing a Masters of Educational Leadership. Right after we started the new school year, my wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary. I have two children, Nate, who is in his third year of college studying engineering and Olivia, who is a Junior here at West Florence. I am the head cross country coach for boys and girls as well as the head girls track coach. I really enjoy being a teacher and coach here at West Florence High School and am looking forward to all the great things that will take place this year at WEST!
