Welcome to Biology 1!   This is my first year at South Florence and I am delighted to be teaching here.  I received my Bachelor's of Science (Marine Biology) from Auburn University in 1991.  Following, I attended graduate school at the College of Charleston where I continued to study Marine Biology.  I then worked for the University of Connecticut in Stanford doing research on algae and teaching biology labs.  My goal for students is to strive for excellence, work hard, and develop an appreciation for how science applies to their every day lives.  I encourage students to live up to their potential.

Outside of the classroom, I am the Girls Cross Country coach.  I received Level 1 Certification through USATF in spring 2022.  The Cross Country team is always looking for student athletes who desire to be part of a team while competing against themselves.
