Welcome to First Grade!

Hi! My name is Carol Hughes. I love teaching First Grade! It is so exciting to watch my students become confident, independent readers!

I have a BS in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University and am certified in Early Childhood Education. Since I am teaching in the area of my certification, I am considered "highly qualified" by the state of South Carolina.

I have two grown children and two grandsons. Mr. Hughes and I have 2 pets at home, a dog and a cat. In my free time, I enjoy reading and running.
