8th Grade Career Exploration

The middle school guidance, career counselors, and career teacher will  focus on the rapidly changing needs of young adolescents. We are especially sensitive to the struggles of middle school students for identity and for balancing the demands for academic, career, and social competencies. In addition, the career departemnt will work with the students to develop a four-year plan that covers graduation requirements. The plan will take into account students interests as well as educational and occupational plans. Students will take career assessemnts, complete a "Self Interest Inventory", conduct career exploration, and complete an "Individual Graduation Plan" (I.G.P.). Students will also be inviolved in many outside of the classroom activities that include college tours / visits, Structured Field Studies, and tours of the Florence Career Center.
