My name is Kay Starrett, and this is my 33rd year as an educator.  My first 30 years I taught in Tennessee:  12 years in middle school and 18 years in high school.  I recieved a BS in English and a M.Ed in Supervisor of Materials with an emphasis in Libray Science from Middle Tennessee State University and Advanced Placement Certification in English Language and Composition for The University of Western Kentucky.

I have been married to Jimmy Starrett for 34 years; we have two daughters-Katie(28), who is currently a second year medical resident in OB/GYN at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayettville, NC and Rachel (24), who graduated in May, 2019 from Freed- Hardeman University with a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice and is currently teaching Criminal Justice in Murfreesboro, TN.

My husband and I took a leap of faith and moved to Florence after my husband received a job offer as senior engineer with a company here.  

Dr. Robinson asked me to come be a part of this wonderful school, and I am currently teaching IB Literature and Theory of Knowledge. We love it here!
