Hello to you—parents, guardians, and students! My name is Amanda M. Nelson. I am grateful for this opportunity to get to know you and your child, and I am looking forward to learning and growing together.
My goal as an educator is to help students reach their potential. I believe that every student can learn and has something to contribute to this world. And I aim to assist them as they strive for success, both academically and socially. My primary purpose is to help each student become a productive citizen who thinks critically, globally, and can effectively communicate their thoughts and feelings. I desire to help students find their voice and equip them with the ability to use it for good.
My passion centers on public education. I attended small, rural schools in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. From a family of five, I ate free lunch and rode the bus. I experienced the public school system first hand. I felt the cracks. And I determined early in life that I wanted to make a difference.
