Ms. A. Douglas

I am a native of Florence, South Carolina and a proud alumna of Wilson High School. I believe and know that every child can and will learn when given the opportunity and the environment to do so.  I advocate for students and promote achievement and self-confidence through encouragement and working with their strengths to help alleviate weaknesses through promoting an “I can do” attitude.  My belief in helping each student meet their fullest potential by providing an environment that is safe, innovative, fun, and conducive to learning, with the encouragement of open communication with parents, colleagues, and administrators within the classroom, will  promote students’ academic progress and improve behavior within any learning environment.

I’ve obtained my Bachelor’s in Elementary Ed., as well as my Master of Arts in Secondary Education with my concentration in Special Education from the University of Phoenix.  I joined my Wilsonian family in 2007.  I’m currently serving as a 3rd year Special Education Teacher LDS here at Wilson High School, but have served in the educational field for over 11 years. I’ve enjoyed my job and love working with diverse school children ranging from kindergarten through high school, but found my niche in working in Secondary Education, mainly at the high school level.  I’ve been blessed working at my Alma Mater, where I have enjoyed vast experiences with students and colleagues.

I have worn many hats and taught various subject areas during my tenure here, but this year I am serving in the capacity of an OC SPED Math Teacher serving 9th - 12th grade students, teaching Algebra 1.   I am looking forward to collaborating and conversing with you and your student(s) during this learning experience.
