Hello! I am Rebecca Deas, and I have the honor of launching Florence 1 Schools first Emergency Medical Services Honors Program at the High School level. I am a graduate of Francis Marion University where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and a concentration in Science. While attending college I found EMS and it quickly became my passion. After teaching for several years at Southside Middle School, and working Emergency Medical Services in surrounding counties, I was presented the oppurtunity of having my two passions collide. As a teacher in emergency medicine, I incorporate rigor into our classroom daily. Working EMS frequently requires First Responders to think outside of the box in order to provide the best patient care. Students are presented with real world challanges, and they are required to work as a team to overcome those challanges.
