Hello, my name is Karen Goodman, and I am excited to be a part of the WMS 6th Grade Academy at NVE!

 I was born and raised in Florence County and I am a graduate of South Florence High School. This is my 11th year teaching and 4th year teaching in Florence School District 1. Previously, I taught 5th and 6th grade in Norfolk, Va, where I lived for over 20 years and earned my Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education from Old Dominion University. 

 It is essential that my classroom feels like a community. I believe this environment is where students learn best. I hold students to high standards but will ensure I have proper support in place for them to obtain them. 

During my downtime, I like to travel, read, decorate, and spend time with my family.
