Hello Delmae Dawgs Faculty/Staff, Parents/Guardians, & Students!

First and foremost, I want to extend warm greetings to everyone! To introduce myself, I am your full-time physical education teacher.  I am truly looking forward to an inspiring, amazingly energetic and exciting school year at Delmae Heights Elementary.

I am certified as a K-12 instructor and have previously worked at both the elementary and high school levels.  I graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, New York University with a Master’s Degree in Business and Mercy College with a Master’s Degree in School Building & School District Leadership.  I am extremely thankful for the opportunity that God has blessed me with to impact the lives of children around me.

PE is no longer what it used to be.  Today’s generation faces a crisis of kids inactivity called “sedentaryism”.   No longer can students be crammed into a crowded gym space standing around waiting for a teacher to start class.  Therefore, it is my goal to get students moving more and back on track to a healthy lifestyle by changing how Physical Education is taught in the Florence One Schools!

As a teacher, I am passionate about my students, about learning, and about the discipline of physical education.  I have the ability to change lives every day.  Therefore, it is my goal to inspire my students to greater heights of excellence, and to leave a positive and lasting impact on the world around them.

As a physical education teacher, I have been afforded the opportunity to interact with the entire student population.  Getting to know each student on a personal level is no easy feat.  However, my personal goal is always to gain as much information from all of my students that will aid me with the ability to engage students through employing their interests to make content relevant to their lives and the world they live in today.

As a product of both public and private school education, I value the diversity and energy that defines public education.  I consider South Carolina and all that it has to offer my new home, so I look forward to challenging my students to become more active and understand the importance of fitness in their lives.  In class, whether during face to face or virtual instruction, students will be moving more, engaged, confident, inspired, motivated, challenged and, on top of that, learning more about their own individual and personal fitness.
