Williams Middle School sits on the north edge of downtown Florence, South Carolina and serves approximately 670 students in grades 7 and 8. Since 2002, Williams has been home to the Middle Years Program which allows students the opportunity to pursue an IB diploma at Wilson High School.
We house a diverse faculty that is committed to the excellence of our students. We believe in sharing one goal as a unified team.
The commitment of Williams to the comprehensive growth of its students can also be seen in the variety of services and programs offered to students. Emotional growth is supported through our fully-staffed counseling department and school-wide Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens initiative. We also aim to support the educational and career goals of our students, with Career Counseling and our Careers course.
We strive to assist our students in the acquisition of technology skills while using the same hardware to address multiple learning styles in the classroom. Our media center contains a variety of technology tools such as Chromebooks, iPads and laptops. Teachers work to integrate technology in the classroom and incorporate 21st Century skills. Additionally, students have access to Google Apps for education as a platform for completing work individually or in groups.
Community partnerships with businesses and universities are fostered to allow unique opportunites and experiences for our students.
