Hello! My name is Christie Buie, and I am a 6th-grade science teacher at Moore Middle School. I’m excited to be starting my 6th year of teaching with you! 

My number one goal this year is to provide quality education. Quality education includes passing on knowledge to students through individual learning styles, classroom discussions, and application. I want to prepare each student for a future where they feel confident and qualified in whatever they aspire to do. 

I graduated from Coker College, with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, and Psychology.  I look forward to furthering my knowledge in education and applying my training in the classroom.

I have lived in Florence for 30 years. I am married to my wonderful husband and we have three children. Our oldest son is married, and lives and works here in Florence. Our daughter also lives in Florence and works as a paramedic for the county. Our youngest son just graduated from South Florence High School and looks forward to going to college this fall. In my free time, I enjoy reading novels, watching action movies, and spending time with my family, part of whom live in Georgia.

Lastly, & maybe most importantly--I love teaching.  I am convinced that teaching is what I was born to do.  Building relationships with students is the number one way to inspire learning & positive change.  I can’t wait to start building those relationships with you.  Let’s make 2022-2023 an amazing year!
