Registration day is only a few weeks away! The official days for registration will be Wednesday, August 8th and Thursday, August 9th from 8:30-4:00 p.m. Registration will be held in the multi-purpose room at Carver. For the new parents to Carver, the multi-purpose room is at the back of the building, adjacent to the cafeteria. We are asking that you use the front entrance of the building only. Proof of residence and student information will be checked in the front hall. This will help us to follow our system for registration and hopefully will minimize your wait time. It is extremely important for you to register your child/children on one of the two days set aside in order to avoid confusion on the first day of school. If your child is new to Carver, you must show each child’s birth certificate.
For proof of residence you will need to follow the instructions on the proof of residency form attached to this letter. This rule must be enforced in order to prevent overcrowded classrooms at Carver. Again, please understand that the address you present to us must be in the parent or legal guardian’s name and must be in Carver’s attendance zone.
You will receive several documents that will need to be reviewed with your child and will need to be returned with signatures before or on parent orientation night (i.e., parent-student-teacher compact, a P.E. permission form, and two permission forms for permitting your child to use the internet and/or to have information included on the Carver website). There will be additional items for purchase. Also, there will be a teacher supply list of items needed for each grade level. Again this year, the district is providing each student an agenda, which includes school and district rules in the front of each book. Kindergarten students do not use agendas.
