WGE Clubs and Activities

  •

At Wallace Gregg Elementary School, we believe in educating the whole child. In addition to academics of reading, math, science, health, and social studies, it also includes providing experiences that help to develop the total child. Research shows that art, music, and physical education contribute to increased achievement in academic subject areas and improve the overall health and well-being of children.

Clubs and activities help students to build respect and learn teamwork as well as gain self-confidence in themselves. It provides students a chance to learn real-world skills and important life-skills that can carry students throughout life. Studies have shown that children that participate in additional school activities are more interested in school and have greater expectations.

    Wallace Gregg Band

The Wallace Gregg Eagle Band is a performance group consisting of 4th-6th grade students.

This introductory and beginning course teaches students how to assemble, and disassemble instruments and also how to play the instruments while performing simple tunes.

Students must obtain their own instruments and are required to perform periodically throughout the year.

Students in the virtual cohort receive lessons from the Google Band Meet Class, while those who are face to face, receive lessons on Thursday and Friday mornings from 7:15-7:40 AM.
