Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Sonya Fanning
Hello! My name is Sonya Fanning, and I am the Medical Detective STEM Elective instructor at Moore Middle School. I am from Hartsville, SC and graduated from Hartsville High School. I attended Francis Marion University and earned my Bachelor's degree. I taught all subjects in 3rd grade for five years at North Vista, 5th grade for one year and 4th grade, all subjects 5 years and science and social studies for 9 years for a total of 15 years at Timrod, and 5th grade science here at Moore for the past three years. This is my 24th year teaching and still love my career as much today as I did 24 years ago. In order to stay updated in my field, I have taken many professional development workshops and graduate courses throughout the years. I am STEM certified through the National Institute in STEM Education and am also certified as a Project Lead The Way Medical Detective Instructor. I have also been a workshop presenter at various conferences throughout the years.
