6th Grade Social Studies

I live in Florence with my husband of 19 years, Bryan, and our cats.  We have three lovable cats named Gracie, Hope, and Leeloo.  My family is full of educators!  My mother taught elementary school and my father was a high school principal.  Initially, I pursued a career in the field of psychology, earning a degree from Alaska Pacific University.  During the holidays, I would return home and help my mother in her classroom.  I began to realize that I loved teaching!  I went back to college and received my teaching degree from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.  

I am all about using technology in the classroom and meeting children where they are.  I believe in challenging children, but also providing the support needed for them to feel successful.  I want everyone in this classroom to feel like they are important and to develop an appreciation for their own education!
