Mrs. Valerie Pridgen

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Valerie Pridgen

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! My name is Valerie Pridgen, and teach 6th and 7th grade students at Moore Middle School.  I have previously taught students in all grade levels K-12, and students at Florence Darlington Technical College.

I am from Florence, and graduated from Florence Christian School. I earned a BS Degree in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University, and a M.ED Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina.  I earned my certification to teach students with Learning Disabilities from Coastal University.  I firmly believe that "Learning is a journey, not a destination", and that all students should have that opportunity to help them succeed in the future!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the beach, and DIY projects/crafts. I am married, and am blessed to have two grown children. My son is in college studying to become a doctor, and is a combat medic for the South Carolina Army National Guard,  and my daughter is a medical assistant student and the mother of my sweet grandaughter, Olivia.

You may contact me at, or here at Moore 843-664-8171 if you have any questions or concerns. Email is the quickest way for me to reply.  I hope that you and your student have a  wonderful school year! There are so many changes this year, feel confident that we will work hard to keep everyone safe during this Pandemic.
