Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! My name is Valerie Pridgen and will be teaching 6th grade Science here at Moore Middle School.  I have over 20 years of teaching experience and have previously taught students in all grades K-12 and students at Florence Darlington Technical College. 

I am from Florence and graduated from Florence Christian School. I earned a BS Degree in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University and an M.ED Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina.  I earned my certificate to teach students with Learning Disabilities from Coastal University.  I firmly believe that "Learning is a journey, not a destination", and that all students should have that opportunity to help them succeed in the future!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the beach, doing floral design, and DIY projects/crafts. I am married and am blessed to have two grown children. My son is studying to become a doctor and is a combat medic for the South Carolina Army National Guard, and my daughter is a  Certified Medical Assistant and the mother of my sweet granddaughter.
