Welcome to my class!

I am so excited about the new school year, our beautiful  building, meeting your children, and would like to share a little about myself. I love teaching since I received my teaching degree from Coker College. I have been teaching for 29 years, in first grade and in fifth grade. I have earned Distinguished Reading Teacher of the Pee Dee, and have presented a reading workshop at the SC Reading Association. My husband, a residential contractor and I have three children and three grandchildren. I enjoy teaching ELA & Social Studies and some of my favorite pass times are reading and visiting historical places in the U.S. I hope to inspire your children to foster a love of reading through our literature and a love for this great country of ours through our social studies units.
