Welcome to 6th Grade Social Studies! The official title of this course is World Civilizations. I hope you will love studying history as much as I do. This will be an exciting year in history. You will learn so much new information about the world!

This is my sixteenth year teaching. I have been teaching 6th grade for 15 years and social studies for 10 years. Previously, I have also taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade ELA, and Content Recovery. 

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Middle Level Education from the University of South Carolina with an emphasis in Language Arts and Social Studies. I earned my Master's Degree in Language and Literacy from the University of South Carolina. Currently, my highly qualified certifications are in Middle Level Language Arts, Middle Level Social Studies, and Literacy Teacher with endorsements in Gifted and Talented and Read to Succeed Literacy Teacher.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy going to South Carolina football games, reading, cooking, and spending time with my family and friends.
