Hello, my name is Deidre Harley and I am the technology teacher here at McLaurin. My career in education began as a substitute teacher,  followed by 5 year as the Cafeteria Bookkeeper at McLaurin.  Working here, I am been very fortunate to recognize and fulfill my life's purpose as a teacher.  My teaching journey began in 2nd grade in 1996 at Lake City Primary. In August of 1997, my journey brought me back to Florence District One as a 3rd grade teacher at Carver Elementary. The next year, I returned to 2nd grade sharing not only my passion for teaching but a love for technology's role in education. Five years later, I returned home to McLaurin as the technology teacher. I have experienced the changes in technology and the impact those changes have in how we teach and the way our students learn. This year I am embarking on a new adventure as the STEM teacher at McLaurin. Our McTech Lab is now the McSTEAM Lab!
